As usually the cultural event European Heritage Days 2016 in Belgrade, organized by the City of Belgrade – Secretariat for Economy and Secretariat for Culture, was great.
Our Museum participated with 4 different and interesting programs: exhibition, the book presentation, the lecture and expert tour of the Jewish cemetery.
On 26 September the small, but very interesting multimedia exhibition “Matilda is not here” by Serbian – Canadian artist of Jewish origin, Gabriela Nikolic, was staged in the Museum.
On 27 September we organized the book presentation “Review of the Jewish Periodicals in Serbia from 1888 to 2015″ by Biljana Albahari, the senior librarian in the National Library of Serbia. This excellent professional book was represented by Mrs. Zdravka Radulovic, the librarian counselor, Mr. Aleksandar Gaon, the representative of the Foundation “Buki Finci” and Federation of Jewish Communities of Serbia which supported the book, and author.
On 29 September, the Museum curator Barbara Panic gave a great professional lecture “Sephardic Cemetery in Belgrade” with video-presentation of the carefully selected parts of the cemetery and characteristic monuments. Welcoming a large audience, the director of the Museum, Vojislava Radovanovic, presented the curator and announced that a similar program “live” – visit to the Jewish cemetery, will be tomorrow.
On 30 September, we welcome a big group of interested visitors at Jewish cemetery of Belgrade and gave them a very interesting tour.
